Cheb - Zu den Zween Erz Herzogen - U dvou arcivévodů
Portrait medallion showing two men, circumscribed Zu den Zween Erz Herzogen (at the two archdukes). The medallion is surrounded by flags, a double headed eagle, a lion and other imperial insignia.

Depicted are:

  1. Erzherzog Johann von österreich (Firenze / Florence 1782 - Graz 1859), Austrian field marshal and German Imperial regent (Wikipedia).
  2. Erzherzog Ludwig von österreich (Firenze / Florence 1784 - Wien 1864), Austrian Feldmarschal-Leutnant (Wikipedia).
sons of of Leopold, Grand Duke of Tuscany, and later Holy Roman Emperor Leopold II.

Annotation

This house was one of the oldest inns in Cheb and was called the Red Horse. Since 1531 it has hosted most prominent visitors. The name "at the two Archdukes" dates from 1803, when the Austrian Archdukes Johann and Ludwig stayed there, the relief dates from 1806.
