Statue of Samson holding the mouth of a lion open, from which water spouts. He is standing in the center of a basin. This basin is carries by a column and four atlas figures. The whole stands on a square base in the center of a large fountain basin.
The fountain was designed by Baugut and built vy the sculptor Dietrich (Samson and the atlas figures) and the stonemason Horn.
In 1990 the statues are replaced by copies, the originals are in the town hall.
P.S. 12 September 2012 was a rainy day... The photos are therefore not as good as usual.
- František Baugut, Jesuit of Jinřichův Hradec.
- Josef Dietrich, sculptor from České Budějovice.
- Zachariáš Horn, stonemason from České Budějovice.
