Saint James the Greater or James, son of Zebedee (d. 44)
one of the Twelve Apostles. Patron saint of pilgrims, soldiers and cavalrymen. Depicted holding a pilgrim's staff decorated with a scallop shell. His remains are in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia (Spain)

Description

Bronze statue of St. James the Greater with staff and bible on a monumental fountain. In the pedestal is a bell, which rings at 11 am and 6 pm during the pilgrimage season.
