Description

Bronze statue with a pickaxe and the plan of the percement du st. gothard.

On the socle two bronze reliefs:

Favre supervising the work in the tunnel.
Favre dies of a heart attack on a rail wagon in the tunnel

On the both reliefs several other people could be recognized, according to the Journal de Genève, such as the engineer Stockalper and Favre's friend Daniel Colladon.
