Description

Bronze bust.

On the pedestal is a bronze relief annita na passagem do rio canoas.
On 15 November 1839, Anita was arrested, but managed to flee by swimming across the Canoas River, holding only in the mane of her horse.

Several websites mention as sculptor João Bassi, the signature is however clearly L. Petrucci.
