Description

Statue of Conscience sitting in a chair. To the left of the chair is a bust of 'Finne van Pollekes; from Asse. This is Joséphine Mestdag (1874-1968), foster mother of the Flemish poet and writer Gaston Durnez, and appearing in his work Vroeger waren wij veel jonger as 'Tante Finne'. She is added to the statue on special request of the organizing committee.
