The Twelve Months

Description

On the eastern and western ramps between the Lower and Upper Garden of the Belvedere are twelve putti representing the months. On the east ramp are the figures of the months September to February, and on the west ramp the months March to August. The present statues date from 1850-1852 and are sculpted by Hanns Gasser, but already in the 18th century there were figures representing the months on the balustrades.
