Description

Marble bust on a marble column with a relief of a Selena, the moon goddess, with flower and a golden star. At the foot of the monument a genius ( little angel) with a harp and a butterfly on his hand (reference to Lenau's poem Schmetterling [= Butterfly]), next to the column the head of a sphinx.
The monument is the counterpart of the Grün monument on Schillderplatz. Grün published Lenau's Sämtliche Werke in 1855.
