Annotation

The foundation stone for the monument was laid on 27 April 1965, the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Second Republic. The unveiling took place exactly two years later, under the presence of President Franz Jonas, the President of the National Council Dr. Alfred Maleta, Chancellor Dr. Klaus and numerous guests.

The design of the entire monument was made by architect Josef Krawina. The bust was designed by Alfred Hrdlicka.
