Description

Bronze bust. Originally a plaster bust erected at the 150th anniversary of Mahler's birth. In 2016 it was replaced with a bronze version.

Originally, there was a plaque with the text:

Gustav Mahler
1860 – 1911
Der geniale Komponist brauchte für seine Inspiration die Ruhe der Natur. Ideal fand er sie in Klagenfurt-Maiernigg am Wöthersee, wo er sich 1900 seine Villa und sein Komponierhäuschen bauen ließ. Hier schuf er in den Sommermonaten bis 1907 seine Hauptwerke.
