Columbus with a globe, pointing towards onder. Bronze statue on half-ton marble base.
Inscription(s)
"COLUMBUS" and the dates "1492" (left) and "1893" (right).
The bronze is signed "Bartholdi 1893".
Annotation
Donated by the Christopher Columbus Committee. It is a copy of the silver statue made for the Columbian Exposition in 1893 in Chicago.
