Description

A bronze fountain sculpture depicting Columbus' ship resting on a dome-shaped network of metal bars designed to look like a globe. This metal frame rests on the rim of a circular fountain basin. Four water spouts positioned around the rim spray water on the ship.

Annotation

The fountain was initiated by the Hello Columbus Monument Committee. Architect Alfred Panepinto designed the monument and architect Cee Jay Fredericks created the plaza. The sculpture was dedicated on the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America.
