Annotation
In celebration of the five hundred-year anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ voyage to North America, the Knights of Columbus of Northwest Florida dedicated the bronze bust to the citizens of Pensacola. A ceremony was held October 12th, 1992 to commemorate the maritime explorer’s arrival. Accompanying Columbus’ bust is a quincentennial time capsule that will be unearthed in 2092, the six hundred-year anniversary of the famous crossing. The bust and time capsule can be visited on the lawn of City Hall in downtown Pensacola.
