Description
Three-figure group of statues made of Carrara marble. Queen Isabella is represented as sitting on her throne. Columbus is kneeling at her left side, holding a sphere in his hand, by aid of which he is demonstrating his theory, while at the Queen's right kneels her personal page.
Annotation
The statue was purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Legrand Lockwood by pioneer banker Darius Ogden Mills, who then presented it the State in 1883.
