Square pillar with an elaborate runic cross. At the top of each face are recessed figures with coats of arms and an inscription below each figure:

  1. St George; coat of arms of the City of Canterbury.
  2. The Army - soldier (very weathered); coat of arms of the Diocese of Canterbury.
  3. The Air Foce - pilot (very weathered); coat of arms of Edward the Black Prince.
  4. The Navy - sailor; coat of arms of the county of Kent.
Below these are plaques with names and inscriptions are bronze.
