Annotation

Since 1906, the both statues have had several pedestals and locations:

1. In the early 20th century both statues were placed facing eachother on the Avenida Colón.

2. In the 1950s they were placed next to each other in a new monument with a kind of balcony over the statues.

3. In 1974 (?) they were placed in the axis of the Autopista el Dorado facing eachother on yellow sandstone pedestals. The Warsaw Voice website says "The sandstone monument of Columbus in Bogota was designed in 1974 by Tadeusz łodziany, a professor at the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw.".
