On a bronze plaque at the base of the monument:
"Testimonio público de la Asociación Española
La Democrática a la junta que organizó y concretó la erección de este
monumento en 1892"
On the four facades of the column are inscriptions in four languages:
Latin: Colombos populos chivilcoianus M.D.C.C.XII.
Spanish: A Colon el pueblo de Chivilcoy
Italian: A Colombo Ii popolo de Chivilcoy
French: A Colombo la peuple de Chivilcoy

The navigator will ask itself because it express the tribute, in four different languages.
