Lorin et CieCh. Lorin et Cie, Peintres-Verriers, Paris-Chartes. The 'Ateliers Lorin' were founded in 1863 by Nicolas Lorin, master glass maker, in Chartres, since then three generations Lorin succeeded. Charles Lorin practiced his art in the late 19th century until the beginning of the Second World War. With over 50 employees, the workshops have provided windows in cathedrals and many prestigious monuments of France and the world. His son Francis has maintained the company and died in 1972. Upon the death of the widow Lorin, the company was purchased and today workshops Lorin-Hermet-Juteau continue to live this art. |
