Princesse Marie d' Orléans

Princesse Marie d'Orléans (Palermo 1813 - Pisa 1839), second daugher of king Louis-Philippe (Wikipedia). As an accomplished sculptor she sculpted in 1838 a statue of Jeanne d'Arc, combining in her representation of the patriottic saint the virtues of heroism and piety. Numerous copies and imitations are made.
