Description

On the two corners of the hall are bronze statues on consoles, both are copies by Krumiņš of the lost originals.
  1. left: Svētais Jānis Evaņģēlists / St. John the Evangelist conventional name for the author of the Gospel of John - considered to be the same person as John the Apostle (Wikipedia).
  2. right: Eduards fon Holanders / Edvard von Hollander (1820-1897) burgomaster of Riga, 1869-1889. In 1901, the year of the 700th anniversary of Riga, the Guild decided to present von Hollander with the statue which was placed on the facade of the Small Guild. In 1915, together with many other metal statues of Riga, the statue of was evacuated to Russia and got lost there.
