Auguste N. Cain
1890 |
Two sculptures of seated deer. These sculptures were commissioned by the Duke of Aumale to Auguste Cain, one of the best animal sculptors of the nineteenth century. They recall the passion of the princes of Chantilly for hunting. On the bronze base is mentioned when and where the particular deer was shot.
