Annotation
The statue stands on the brick wall along the road at the top of the sluice. In this wall are three stone reliefs with a sailing ship (signed zebel), the coat of arms of Dornumerseal (a perfoming bear on a sluice, see also the bear statue in Esens) with the date 1997, and a list of floods ('Schicksalssturmfluten) since 1362, respectively.
